Matariki Festival Reflection

For the Matariki Festival on Thursday, I was in a group with Phyu Sin and CC and we did star balls.

What I found disappointing was that no people really did a full star ball. But it’s really hard and time consuming so I understand why. I also understand that you would want to explore everything at a festival and not stick to one station. There was also pretty limited time to walk around and explore before home time since the performances were more than 1 hour. Not that many people came to our station and the advertising posters couldn’t be put up because of a false advertisement error. We had no prizes like candy, so people probably weren’t that interested.

But there were also really fun stuff about it, I did stuff at other stations and got candy and other things. I think focusing on the fun things that happened are better than focusing on the disappointing stuff. I mean, at least there was way more than 1 person in total visiting our station. It might’ve not worked as planned but I think we had fun and people still visited our station. There was stuff we could’ve done better though, like maybe plan what prizes would be before the day before the festival.

  1. Good Job selina it sounds like you enjoyed Matariki festival and yes you are correct not much people came to our station but maybe next year’s Matariki festival Im pretty sure we would get more people =)

  2. Hi Selina! I really love how honest you are in your reflection and how you even mentioned the downs and ups from the festival. Your task description is one paragraph and you wrote a splendid reflection. I think that maybe you could’ve added some photo’s if you were able so that people who couldn’t attend could see what has happend. But I understand if you weren’t able to because many peoples internet has been playing up so if thats what happend thats undertsandable. Good job! I really think you have potential 🙂
